1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PolicyKit ("Service"), operated by [COMPANY NAME]("we", "our", or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

PolicyKit provides AI-assisted compliance document generation tools to help businesses create policy templates, checklists, and risk assessments ("Content"). The Service is intended for informational purposes only.

Important: All Content generated by PolicyKit is provided as a professional template and starting point only. It does not constitute legal, regulatory, or professional advice. You should always review generated Content with qualified legal and compliance counsel before implementation or reliance.

3. Accounts and Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

You must be at least 18 years of age to register for and use the Service. By creating an account you represent that you are 18 or older. The Service is not directed at individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.

4. Subscription Plans and Payment

PolicyKit offers the following plans:

• Free: Limited to one (1) lifetime document generation. Content is watermarked. No credit card required.
• Policy Pack ($79 one-time): Up to 20 document generations and full PDF/DOCX export without watermarks.
• Compliance Hub ($29/month or $290/year): High-volume document generation plus all Pack features, team acknowledgment tracking, regulatory alerts, version history, and audit reports. Usage is subject to fair-use limits described in our documentation.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled; you may cancel at any time via the customer billing portal, and access continues until the end of the current billing period. Subject to your statutory rights below, one-time purchases are non-refundable once document generation has begun.

Consumers: If you purchase as a consumer (not for purposes of a trade, business, or profession), you may have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days under applicable consumer-protection law. Because the Service supplies digital content and generates documents immediately on demand, by starting to use the Service or generating a document you expressly request immediate performance and acknowledge that you will lose the 14-day right to cancel once generation has begun. Where a statutory cancellation or refund right applies and has not been validly waived, contact us and we will honour it. Business customers are not entitled to a cooling-off period.

5. Intellectual Property

Documents generated using the Service are owned by you, subject to your compliance with these Terms. You grant us a limited licence to process your inputs to provide the Service. The PolicyKit platform, software, and all associated intellectual property remain our property.

6. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Generate content for illegal purposes or in violation of applicable law
• Misrepresent AI-generated content as independently verified legal advice
• Resell or redistribute generated content without appropriate disclosure
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or extract training data from the Service
• Violate any applicable data protection laws in your use of the Service

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT GENERATED CONTENT IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, LEGALLY COMPLIANT, OR SUITABLE FOR YOUR SPECIFIC REGULATORY ENVIRONMENT. YOU ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR USE OF GENERATED CONTENT.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR ANY GENERATED CONTENT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including your non-excludable statutory rights as a consumer. The exclusions and limitations above apply only to the extent permitted by law and, where you contract as a consumer, do not affect your statutory rights.

9. Indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless [COMPANY NAME] and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the Service or any generated Content; (b) your reliance on generated Content without review by qualified legal and compliance professionals; (c) any content you input, generate, publish, or distribute that is unlawful or infringes the rights of any third party; or (d) your breach of these Terms or of any applicable law. This indemnity does not apply to the extent a claim arises from our own fraud or wilful default, and nothing in this section requires a consumer to indemnify us beyond what applicable consumer law permits.

10. Data Protection

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy and our Data Processing Agreement. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of information as described therein. We process data in accordance with UK GDPR and applicable data protection laws.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will provide notice of material changes by email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Assignment

We may assign, transfer, or novate our rights and obligations under these Terms, in whole or in part, to any successor or acquirer in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, financing, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets or business, or otherwise by operation of law, without your consent. Where required by law we will give notice of any such transfer. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. These Terms bind and benefit the parties and their permitted successors and assigns.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
